Things to Remember For Rideshare

Posted on October 20, 2017

Shared Van is the most economical way to travel to and from your designation. It has alot of advantages such as cost, accommodates large number of baggage and items. That is why Prime Time Shuttle pioneered the rideshare transportation service in the greater Los Angeles area starting back in 1984.

There is rideshare and then there is good ride-share. It’s easy to say that you provide rideshare service, but without the state-of-the-art rideshare software, which Prime Time has developed over the years, rideshare can become a nightmare experience. There are alot pros in doing rideshare but safety has been a central theme surrounding rideshare services in recent months.

There have been several cases in the news involving violent altercations between drivers and passengers. Just like when hiring a traditional taxi driver, it’s a good idea to follow safety tips before hiring a rideshare service. Here are some tips for security and smooth ride:

1. Schedule Your Ride Ahead of Time

Whether you’re headed out of town, want to be on time for a dinner reservation or early for a business meeting, you can have extra assurance knowing your ride will be available when you need it.

2. Confirm the driver and car

Before accepting a ride, confirm the driver is the person the service notified you was coming.

When you’re matched with a Prime Time Shuttle driver, you’ll see a picture of the driver, her or his rating, the car’s license plate number and the driver’s name.

Double-check their license plate and information. The license plate information is the best way to go.

3. Check the driver’s rating

PTS have platforms to rate and check a driver’s rating.

PTS drivers can also rate passengers, just as passengers rate the drivers, which encourages positive interaction.

4. Don’t give drivers cash

Prime Time Shuttle charge your credit card for your ride. Part of the appeal of these services is the convenience, which typically means there’s no reason for a driver to ask you for cash.  If they do, say no and strongly consider declining the ride or getting out of the car early. Also, be sure to report the driver to us, but this has never happened in our history yet.

5. Don’t drink too much

Many of the violent cases involved a rider who had drank too much alcohol. Although it’s a good idea to call for a ride if you’ve been drinking, having too much to drink can lead to a dangerous situation. It is not just a precautionary step while riding the car but as well as during the waiting time that is why we pick you up as fast as we can.

6. Ride in the back

Our drivers undergo a criminal background check and must pass a background check. However, there’s always a chance that you could ride with a driver who displays inappropriate behavior. We suggest that passengers always ride in the back of the car as a precaution unless, you have too many passengers to fit in the back. Another good practice: Exit on the curb side, not the traffic side, of the car.

If you use some common sense, and keep these tips in mind, the ridesharing arrangement can be a good option for both drivers and passengers. Happy riding!
