Prime Time Shuttle is pleased to offer its support of cooperatives around the world at the closing of the United Nations Mandated International Year of Cooperatives 2012.
Cooperatives have positively impacted the lives of millions of people around the world and their accomplishments are not consistently commented upon by major news outlets. The International Year of Cooperatives 2012 is a time to make the cooperative voice heard, with the main theme being “Cooperative Enterprises Build A Better World.”
Although Prime Time Shuttle is not a cooperative, we honor and support the contribution of this collective business format that is the equivalent of the 10 largest economies on earth.
“Cooperatives account for nearly $654 billion in revenue, over two million jobs, $75 billion in wages and benefits paid and a total of $133.5 billion in value-added income” (NCBA).
Cooperatives are not limited to financial benefits but have a foundation of ethical and social responsibility embedded into their governance structure. This structure is one that benefits all member owners of the enterprise and not only the few corporate officers like many corporations. It is in this spirit of ownership, profitability and independence that we strive to mimic with our very own drivers, who are owner operations.
