San Diego Airport
In 1927, Charles A. Lindbergh electrified the world when he made San Diego the starting point for the first-ever solo, nonstop transatlantic flight. In his Spirit of St. Louis, Lindbergh took off from Dutch Flat bound for St. Louis, New York and Paris. Lindbergh later agreed to lend his name to San Diego Airport – Lindbergh Field.
Today San Diego International Airport (SAN) brings in one and all with both its domestic and international flights. Serving over 20 million passengers in 2015 alone, SAN is also the nations busiest single runway commercial airport. Located three miles from downtown San Diego, SAN offers a close proximity to many attractions. Millions flock to the infamous San Diego Zoo each year to gush at those adorable penguins or wake up at sunrise to catch the famous, glorious waves at Cardiff beach.
